EWEA leadership was thrilled to host their annual new teacher luncheon. Over 40 new educators joined us for laughter, information, lovely gifts, great food and to “feel the love”. They are now “part of the family” and we hope they feel that too. We were especially pleased to have Marie Blistan, our NJEA vice president, take time out of her busy schedule so that she and Bob Blistan could meet our new people as well. Marie and Bob “schmoozed” with all of our new members, offering gifts, encouragement and “thank yous” for being part of our profession. We were also thrilled to have our Uniserv Rep Susan Nard with us, motivating our new members with the realities of the profession and a strong reminder to ENJOY what they are about to embark on. She was clear that our students need US. Our good friend, Christine Sampson Clark, Mercer County president, NEA Director and NJEA Executive Committee member, shared the afternoon and her beautiful smile as well. And I DON’T think she even took ONE selfie! All in all, a wonderful way to start the new school year. Newbies…welcome to the family.
