President: Ellen Ogintz – Ellen is an elementary special education teacher, who has taught for almost 40 years! She is a recent recipient of the East Windsor/Hightstown Mayors’ Shining Star Award” for her contributions to the community. She has been an Association Representative, Membership Chairperson, Negotiations Team member,and Vice President for EWEA. She has been their President for the last ten years. Ellen is also the Corresponding Secretary for the Mercer County Education Association, and represents the County at the NJEA Delegate Assembly . Ellen is proud to represent the over 480 members of the East Windsor Education Association and believes communication is the key…emails, Facebook, and the webpage. She is confident that the more members know about the Association the more they will want to get involved.
Treasurer: Kathleen Carvalho – Kathleen has been teaching in the East Windsor Regional School District for the past seventeen years. She has worked in both Special and Regular Education and is currently a 3rd grade teacher. Kathleen has been an Association Representative, PRIDE Chairperson, Newsletter Editor, Treasurer, and Negotiations Team Chairperson. Kathleen believes that education is power and the more you know about your Association, the more you can help members serve students.
Secretary: Frances Lavelle- Frances teaches 8th grade social studies and has just completed her tenth year of teaching. Although she came late to teaching, she has always recognized the importance of a strong union. She is delighted to work alongside the EWEA team to best serve all our members!
Webmistress & LAT Chair: Ana Martinez– Ana is an ELL teacher at the Walter C. Black school who wanted to help her Association and became our Communications Chair! This means Ana is webmistress for Facebook, this webpage and our Twitter account!
